Unlike His Peers Though, Watkins Took His Newfound Love All The Way To The Stage of Canada’s Got Talent.
“I’ve been in bands but not able to make anything work,” Said Watkins, a Hamilton Native who Relocated to Delhi Six Years Ago. “I thought I Wanted to Try this Looping Thing. The Pandemic Happened and I Found Myyself with a Whole Bunch of Time so I Decided to Figure It All Out.
Looping requires Repeating Part of a Song Ug using Device, Pedal, Or plugin. It combines acoustic instruments with electronic sounds and dates as far back as the 1940s. The Concept Made Its Way Into Rock With The Likes of Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles, and has been popular recently in an electronic movement, like Watkins’ Inspiration Marc Rebillet,

Rebellet’s How to Funk in Two Minutes Lit A Fire in Twatkins that has yet to be extinguized.
“When i was in high school i listened to rap and hip hop,” watkins explained. “As I Got Older i Realized they all sampled from Funk Artists, so I Started Getting Into Funk.”
Watkins Began Laying Down A Track Using A Based Guitar, Before Adding A Regular Guitar, Keys, Drum Pads and Original Songs, Calling It ‘Badunkafunk’.
“I Started Making Videos to Post Online and They Started Getting Traction, So I Decided I was going to Write Some Songs, Learn Some Covers and Try to Book Some Live Gigs Which I’ve Done,” Watkins Said.
A Mutual Friend Got Him in Touch With A Casting Director and Soon HE Was Sending Samples To Canada’s Got Talent Producers. Recently, Watkins Took Part in the Audition Stage in Niagara Falls in Front of 2,500 people and judges. Howie Mandell, Shania Twain, Katherine Ryan and Kardinal Offishall.

“I was really hoping they would like it – i practized like a madman,” watkins said.
“I nailed my performance. I’m hoping that they use it on tv. They are going to let me know two weekes before the episode airs, but they say that it’s not guaranto.”
Though Watkins is Legally unable to share the results, Friends and Family in the Stands Reported the Crowd was grooving to the Beat.
“It was so nerve-racking-at the end of the performance, you feel so raised that it’s over. It’s almost like you black out,” Watkins Said.
The Season 4 Premiere of Canada’s Got Talent is to Air March 18,
Watkins will be Waiting by His Phone in the Coming Weeks to Hear If He’ll Make The Cut.
“If it airs and i’m on ctv – that show specificly that is immensely popular – it’s goong to be incredible,” watkins said. “I’m going to be over the moon.”
In the Meantime, Watkins Will Look to Fill His Free Time With Shows Across the Region.
“If you hear the name Badunkafunk you should come to a show with an open mind,” He Said. “You might hear a genre of music you don normally listened to and i think you are going to like it and maybe shake a little booty.
