Despite the long period of time since the announcement of Ark 2, the game is still not in the middle. So what’s the last situation?
In 2020 at The Game Awards event, Vin Diesel was announced with an impressive CGI trailer. ARK 2hasn’t appeared since then. The release date of the game has been postponed several times, and speculation has increased whether the game was canceled among the fans. However, developer Studio Wildcard announced these concerns by announcing an expansion package that would connect the series to ARK 2.
ARK: Lost Colony Enlargement Package
Studio Wildcard announced Ark: Lost Colony, a new expansion package for Ark: Survival Evolved. This expansion package will focus on the character played by Michelle Yeoh in the Ark Animation series and connect the stories of ARK’s Extinction and Genesis expansion packages to the events of Ark 2.
ARK: Lost Colony will be released in June with a $ 30 price tag on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms. However, the final release date of Ark 2 is still unclear. The developer team postponed the planned release date for the end of 2024, and a new date has not been announced.
According to statements made in 2022, ARK 2 was planned to be released within a year. However, the next postponement and the content road map dating back to 2026 were not included in the ARK 2, increased the question marks about the fate of the game. Studio Wildcard has continued to develop ARK 2, while the Lost Colony expansion package aims to give hope to the fans of the series.
The ARK 2 has the potential to expand the theme of survival with dinosaurs and move the series to the next level. However, the constant postponement of the game and lack of information about it is disappointing among fans. Nevertheless, the Lost Colony Enlargement Package can create a bridge both in terms of the story and to the players with new content.
