“Measles is here, it’s here in Ontario and it’s here in Chatham-Kent,” Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Shanker Nesathurai Said in an Update to the Chatham-Kent Public Board of Health on Monday.

“The Best Protection Against Measles is vaccination,” Nesathurai Said.

“For the most part, Measles is a challenge for people who have not received a vaccine,” nesathurai said.

He has asked Area Physicians to re-Evaluate Children Ages Six Months to a Year to Determine If the Risk is there that warrants to vaccinate early.

Nesathurai Believes the Risk is there, Espeti with 18 Known Cases of Measles in the Community and more expected.
