Carina Östman, 67, shares her time between Sweden and Denmark, where her partner lives. When she heard about the new apartments in Bergshamra Security Housing in Solna, she got high hopes, and in November she moved in.
– It was great. I had very high expectations, she says.
The accommodation includes common areas and a green courtyard. But the hopes for the new home were shattered quickly.
– Then it has just been crushed. It started quite quickly with it being quite cold in the bathroom.
The neighbors: “You see everything”
It quickly turned out that there was something wrong with the heat in the house, and the problems did not end there. Carina Östman’s worktop in the kitchen was broken, the door phones were misunderstood and the elevator stopped working, something that Home & Hire Previously reported.
But one day on the balcony she got the biggest shock.
– There was an older pair of walking below my balcony. They say, are you who have bathroom windows against our houses? For you can be seen in the bathroom. You see everything.
From inside the bathroom it looked like the window glass was properly frosted, but that was not the case. In anticipation of a solution, she hung up a drapery in front of the window, but it took at least two weeks before a company came and set up extra frost movies on the window, she says.
– You are naked and then the neighbors have been able to see it.
“Not ensured that things work”
The bathroom window is also next to the gate, where many people pass by.
– There is a lot of traffic past my poor bathroom window.
Although the first time in the accommodation has been lined with problems, Carina Östman does not feel insecure. However, she experiences continued shortcomings. After the heat in the house has been strolled for months, she has now measured the temperature in the apartment and sent documents to the rental committee.
– The problem that I perceive it is that they have not ensured that things work before people move in. There has been a final inspection before we moved in, but why have these things not been noticed?
Head of Development: “Complemented the protection”
Peter Wråke is the development manager at Signalisten. He does not share the image that there was full transparency in Carina’s bathroom.
– But you have been able to see that these are the contours of a person behind. Then we have supplemented that protection.
As for the lift problems with the elevator, it was injured in connection with the tenants moving in, he says, states that the problems were solved in five days.
– The heat problem has been quite difficult. It’s unfortunate. The temperature has, with any individual exception, not less than any government requirements.
Peter Wråke says that they are “very pleased with the property”, but not with wrong and deficiencies. He states that several checks have been made at the final inspection.
– Some parts can be difficult to detect at such an inspection as the property is not in use and no one has moved in, he says.
