– We and my parents were hiding for a long time. It was not nice to talk about the subject because it could have consequences – especially when I was younger, Brooksby tells the BBC Sport.
Brooksby wants to go public with the matter to help families and future sports professionals living with autism. Slowly, he says he has noticed that people’s reactions are very common.

Brooksby’s autism has little effect on his life outside tennis today – and it can prove to be an advantage in the field. He believes he has further developed.
– I can keep my concentration under quite a bit of pressure. External things like the audience or the wind do not bother my game either.
