Chatgpt from Openai is considered efficient, but also very expensive. Now the Chinese company Baidu has presented a chat bot that should not only be faster, but also much cheaper.
Which company is it about? The Chinese company Baidu operates the search engine of the same name in China. Now the company has presented two new AI models: Ernie 4.5 and Ernie X1. The English -language magazine neowin.net now reports.

Ernie: Faster and, above all, cheaper than chatt
What is Ernie? Ernie 4.5 is a multimodal base model that can understand text, images, audio and video. It is said to have improved skills in the areas of language skills, understanding, generation, logical thinking and memory.
With Ernie X1, Baidu also offers a much more extensive model of his AI. This is a so-called “Deep Thinking” model: Deep Thinking describes the ability to analyze and solve problems in several steps. This should make it better for logical conclusions, complex calculations and more.
What is special about the AI? Another positive aspect of Ernie 4.5 is its costs, which should only be 1 % of the costs of GPT-4.5: While Chatgpt should cost $ 700,000 daily, Ernie 4.5 costs are only $ 7,000. This wants to surpass the new AI model Deepseek, which also costs significantly less than a chat.
The prices for input and output begin at $ 0.55 per 1 million token (Ernie) and $ 2.2 per 1 million token (Ernie X1).
Can you already test Ernie? Yes, Ernie 4.5 and Ernie X1 can be obtained from Ernie Bot’s website. Baidu plans to integrate these new models in Baidu Search, the Wenxiaoyan app and other services in the coming months. This should not be very relevant for German users, since these services are only available in China and there is no German counterpart.
Elon Musk believes that there is no more data from real people with which AI can be trained. And there he is not the only one who believes this. Other large companies in the tech sector already use synthetic data generated by AI: “We have reached the limit”: Elon Musk guarantees that there is no longer any human data that Ki can be trained with
