The alarm operator asked Niklas to film the fire – soon the technology will be new law: “Surprised and frustrated”

On June 28, 2025, a new law on increased accessibility will take effect in Sweden. This means that companies and organizations, regardless of size and industry, will be required to ensure that their digital services are available to everyone.

In the case of emergency calls, including the 112 number, they should be able to handle voice, text and video in the same call. Among other things, it is about ensuring that people with disabilities, such as visual, hearing or speech, receive the help they need in an emergency.

SOS Alarm is currently looking at how their operations can be adapted to the new EU legislation.

Curberry can film the situation

Rescue Center Mitt, which includes Gotland and municipalities in Stockholm County, Uppsala County and Västmanland County since the summer of 2024 has trained all staff and offered the opportunity for live video to improve efforts and communication.

– There are great advantages to the technology that will most likely develop rapidly, says Daniel Svärd, intervention leader Storstockholm’s fire defense.

So far, however, few people know the technology and when SVT talks about Niklas Norberg’s experience and criticism, Daniel Svärd can understand his reaction.

In the video: The intervention leader: “Is always voluntary to participate but there are great benefits with the technology”
