The goalscorer of the XV of France could have had a completely different career if this physical “problem” had not been resolved.
Toulouse stadium player, Thomas Ramos is not the mega star of the XV of France as can be of Antoine Dupont, Romain Ntamack, etc. However, the opener and rear will enter the history of French rugby by becoming, probably this Saturday against Scotland, the top scorer in the history of the Blues.
This record, owned by another legend, Frédéric Michalak, could also be pulverized by Thomas Ramos who is only 29 years old and therefore still many years ahead of him. The young Ramos always wanted to rugby, starting at the age of 5 in Mazamet. “I grew up with a ball not far away, I bathed in rugby from an early age. My father played third line, my grandfather did it too. But my parents never pushed me to do absolutely. My mother was not too much for”, he told the Parisian.

But Thomas Ramos’s career could have never really taken off in reality, because of a physical problem … or rather remarks on his physique. “I was someone pretty thin, I had a hard time gaining mass. It was criticized at the start of my young career,” he said in the media.
“There were mornings where I was asked how it was, but above all how much I weighed. At the time, I had to make 8-9 kilos less than today, so around 78 kg”, he recently detailed in the Parisian. An unfortunate event finally allowed him to pass a small course. “At 20, I injured myself and in fact, this three-month stop allowed me to thicken myself a little and gain weight,” he explains.
In general, in terms of weight, a player in the rear pack in rugby weighs an average of 89.4 kg, the half-years turning around 83 kg (Dupont actually 85 for example). Conversely, a player of the front pack is rather located around 114 kg. On average, the XV of France is roughly in this standard with 928 kilos in total for example against Ireland, or 116 on average.
