US President Donald Trump has relied on an old war team from 1798, Alien Enemie’s Act, to be able to expel paperless migrants. The purpose is quick to the deportation of members of the Venezuelan cartel Tren de Aragua that Trump claims has “infiltrated” the country.
The law was most recently used by President Franklin D Roosevelt during World War II to be able to interny and deport people of Japanese and German origin, among others.
Since it is designed to be invoked when the United States is at war or threatened by invasion, experts believe it will face resistance in US courts, CNN reports.
