Hamas, an extremist organization dominating Gaza, says it could release the bodies of one American Israeli hostage prisoner and four other hostages if the second phase of the ceasefire negotiations is started, says AP.
The first phase of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas officially ended at the beginning of the month. So far, the parties have avoided the new warfare of intermittent violence.
The Hamas official says that the second phase of the delayed negotiations should begin on the day of release. The negotiations should take up to 50 days. Israel should also stop preventing humanitarian aid and retreats from the strategic corridor at the border of Gaza and Egypt.
Israel accuses of manipulation
According to AP, Hamas would also require more release of Palestinian prisoners against hostages.
Israel has not made an immediate comment as the government’s offices were closed due to the weekly Sabbath.
Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu On Friday, the office accused Hamas for “manipulation and psychological warfare,” when the offer was originally made. Later, Hamas refined the terms.
The Israeli negotiators traveled to Qatar for a follow -up to Gaza’s ceasefire on Monday.
