Retirement may well wait a bit. LVMH will offer during its general assembly to postpone the limit age of the CEO from 80 years to 85 years, allowing Bernard Arnault, aged 76, to stay longer at the head of the world’s world number.
During the General Assembly of April 17, shareholders will have to rule on this modification of the statutes “in order to harmonize the age limits of the chairman of the board of directors and the director general to bring them to ninety-five years”, according to the compulsory legal announcements. The CEO threshold had already been noted at 80 years in 2022.
Bernard Arnault did not appoint a successor. His five children all work for the group and four of them are on the board of directors. Delphine Arnault, 49, elder from siblings, is CEO of Dior and member of the LVMH Executive Committee. Antoine Arnault, 47, is president of Berluti and Loro Piana and responsible for the image and environmental policy of LVMH. He is also Managing Director and Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Holding Christian Dior who controls LVMH.
Family control
Alexandre Arnault, 33, is the deputy managing director of Moët Hennessy, who brings together the brands of champagne, wines and spirits of the group. Frédéric Arnault, 30, was appointed Wednesday managing director of Loro Piana. He will take office on June 10. He is currently CEO of the LVMH Watches division.
Jean Arnault, 27, is director of marketing and watches development for Louis Vuitton. He is the only one not to be on the board of directors. “He has time, he is young,” said his father in January 2024.
In July 2022, Bernard Arnault had perpetuated LVMH luxury family control with the reorganization of the agache holding company in a commandity company. The Arnault family has 49 % of LVMH capital and 64.81 % of voting rights. In 2024, LVMH made a net profit of 12.55 billion euros and a turnover of 84.7 billion euros.
