Public comments invited on updates to drinking water source protection plan

Members of the public are invited to read and comment on the proposed updates to the drinking water source protection plan for the great river waterrshed.

The plan has been prepared under the clean water act, 2006 to protect municipal sources of drinking water and ensure their sustainable use in the future, Said a News Release.

The program is designed with continuous improvises in mind. The proposed updates Incorporate New Technical Information and Revised Policies for the City of Brantford and the County of Brant Drinking Water Systems, included Adopt of A Sodium and Chloride Issue Contributing Area at the Bethel Road Wellfield in Paris.

Policies for Both the City and County Have Been Updated To Complete With the 2021 Technical Rules For Identifying Drinking Water Threats.

The Draft fine plan is available for the public to review at Sourcewater.ca and in hard copy at Grand River Conservation Authority, 400 Clyde RD. In Cambridge; Brantford City Hall, 58 Dalhousie St. in Brantford; and County of Brant, Burford Administrative Office, 26 Park Ave. In Burford.

Public comments and questions about the changes presented in the draft amended Source Protection Plan Are Welcome, Said the Release. Only Comments that addresse the proposal for changes of this draft plan update will be considered.
