Snow arrives in all these departments, even in the plain!

Snow arrives in all these departments even in the plain

After the cold, snow is back in the coming days. And a few flakes may well surprise you in the plain.

Only a few days before spring and snow is making a comeback! If winter has been rather poor powder this season, some flakes are likely to fall in the mountains and plain. A notable drop in temperatures has already occurred in the middle of the week, with a cold air progressing towards the southern half of the country. “The Alps, especially the southern massifs, could see significant cumulative snow, between 50 and 80 cm around 1800-2000 m”, specifies The weather channel.

Further north, from Limousin to the Grand Est, the snow sprinkled the trays from 400m this Thursday morning. A risk looming until weekends. Giboulées are also announced on the hills of Lower Normandy, or even in Brittany. In total, thirteen departments have been placed in yellow “snow-verglas” by Météo France March 13: Cantal, Corrèze, Côte-d’Or, Creuse, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Nièvre, Moselle, Puy-de-Dôme, Bas-Rhin, Haute-Saône and Vosges.

The mountain ranges will therefore not be the only ones affected by the snowfall. The plain can hope for the arrival of these few flakes, as demonstrated by the card made by the weather chain. We note that the departments of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region, but also those of Burgundy-Franche-Comté and the Grand-Est are affected by a significant risk of being snowy, around 60% locally. But the ground holding should be limited to sprinkling from 300 m. For all the regions concerned, the meteorological agency recommends the greatest caution on the roads from Friday.

Will there be snow this weekend? If the data remains to be reliable, “a ‘return from East’ (designating an disturbance coming from the East), could bring a wet time with snowfall to the plain in our regions of the east,” reports the weather chain.
