In their Facebook feed you can often see grocery stores that advertise, post offers and promotions. The posts often become popular and are an easy way for stores to reach out to their customers.

Unfortunately, it is easy to start and imitate a Facebook account, something that several of Coop and their customers have experienced.

Coop has recently received several reports from customers who discovered accounts that claim to be one of Coop’s stores, something that TV4 News was the first to report on.

Several different competitions have been advertised on the pages, in an attempt to attract customers’ bank details. With promises of prices, no bad customers send their contact details to get their profit.

– Occasionally, it has happened that customers come into the store to get their price, and are saddened when we have to say that it is not Coop who sent out the information, says Coop’s press secretary Therese buttonto the channel.

Several fraud attempts have also been carried out via SMS and it is important to remember that Coop never sends if it does not concern delivery information, she points out.

In those cases when Coop received news about which numbers are behind the Bluff-SMS: one has reported to the police. When discovered by fake posts on Facebook, Coop reports the Meta posts, and urges customers to do the same.
