Between February 27 and March 5, Novus asked 1005 Swedes about their confidence in the government’s 24 ministers – thus not reflected how this was possibly affected by yesterday’s charges against former national security adviser Henrik Landerholm.
Ulf Kristersson (40%), Gunnar Strömmer (33%) and Pål Jonson (29%). The Minister of Justice rose by five percentage points since the September survey, while the Minister of Defense increased by as many as nine.
Trying to solve the problems
– You have not solved neither the Ukraine war nor the serious violent crimes. But you probably feel that they genuinely try and want to solve these problems, says Torbjörn Sjöström, CEO Novus.
The government’s foremost face has also taken on a prominent role in the crises. After the mass shooting in Örebro, Kristersson spoke to the nation to show compassion and urge to unity. Even after Trump’s dramatic restructuring of US foreign policy, which shakes about Europe, the prime minister has wanted to gather both the party landscape and the country.
The rise in trust by six percentage points leads to the thoughts of how previous the S-State Ministers Löfven and Andersson lifted similarly after the outbreak of pandemic and Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
New focus in world history
The security crisis is difficult to see the end of, but world history seems to have already been entered in a new direction where Kristersson, under even more difficult circumstances, may need to show leadership and make decisions when complete information is lacking, such as can create a country father. So far, however, he has been remarkably cautious. Stopped at a soothing mantra about ice in the stomach while other European leaders spoke clear language.
Germany’s future Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that the United States no longer cares about Europe’s fate and France’s Emmanuel Macron that Europe needs to prepare for war without the United States by its side. The desire to save what can be saved can be understandable by the relationship across the Atlantic, but there is also a limit where openness that it may still be only play from the White House seems to be reality of reality, and rather damages the government’s confidence.
Climate policy is often scolded
In the second end of the ministerial measurement, Romina Pourmokhtari (L) received the largest increase in the proportion of voters who have little confidence. 14 percentage points more since September now mean a total of 53 percent, and when great and little confidence is weighed together in a balance measurement, the Environment and Climate Minister ends up last. It is a warning to the time parties that its often scolded climate policy does not live up to voters’ expectations in the field.
The second worst balance of trust received Ebba Busch (KD). Probably a consequence of the unreleased election promises to quickly resolve the energy crisis and lower citizens’ electricity costs, which were re -raised at the latest price shock last winter. However, Busch did not want to take any responsibility for, but instead placed the blame on Germany.
When reality has come to a race, Busch has now backed down from the previously secure commitment that new nuclear power would begin to be built before the end of the term. However, in SVT’s agenda this weekend, she gave a new insurance. Article 5 applies, the government still relies on the United States.
