The 2022 Mercedes T-Class, which was added to the family after the Citan, stands out with its dynamics that will shed light on the fully electric EQT.

Having introduced the new generation Citan, which also has an electric version, last year, the brand is adding the T-Class to its family this year. As with the Citan, the 2022 Mercedes T-Class, from which the second generation has come, has aspects that are similar to the Renault Kangoo, whose infrastructure it developed. It will undoubtedly be at the forefront that Mercedes will reflect the premium segment feeling to the users with the touches it makes on the vehicle. For the new T-Class, which will be offered for sale over the standard wheelbase at the first stage, the long wheelbase option will also be on the lists in the coming period. It will also have a passenger capacity of 7 people with the long wheelbase version.

Standing out with its length of 4,498 millimeters, a width of 1,859 millimeters and a height of 1,811 millimeters, the new T-Class brings improvements in this aspect compared to the previous generation. In the model, which offers a luggage volume of 517 liters in the standard wheelbase version, those looking for more will have to wait for the long wheelbase version. On the design side, it is possible to say that we are looking at a face that we can refer to for the EQT, in the product group where Mercedes differs from Kangoo especially with its front panel. On the cockpit side, we can see that Mercedes is separated in the first stage with the steering wheel, driver and multimedia screens. However, premium touches will be felt on console upholstery and other points.

The new generation T-Class will be available under the hood with petrol and diesel engine options. Positioned at the entry level of the family, the T160 features a 1.3-liter gasoline engine with 102 PS power and 200 Nm torque. Together with the T180, we can see that the same engine can be purchased with 131 PS power and 240 Nm torque. On the diesel side, the 1.5-liter unit is offered in the T160d version with 95 PS power and 230 Nm torque. With the T180d, the values can increase up to 116 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque. On the transmission side of the T-Class, a 6-stage manual unit is offered as standard. In the “180” versions of the gasoline and diesel engines, users can have a 7-stage double clutch gearbox with an additional fee. The T-Class, which will be offered for sale in Germany with a starting price of approximately 30 thousand euros, will be delivered to its first owners in a short time.
