When does the Night of Destiny 2025 intervene? The date has been identified by the Great Mosque of Paris.
A few days before Eid El-Fitr, the Night of Destiny (Laylat al-Qadr) is also an important time in Islam. It is indeed the holy night of the Muslim calendar, because it would be the day when the Archangel Gabriel would have revealed the Koran to the Prophet Mohammed. Its date is not fixed in the Gregorian calendar, it is in the last 10 days of Ramadan.
The Night of Destiny (or Laylat al-Qadr) 2025 /1446 (1446 designating the current year in the Islamic calendar), is between March 20 and March 30.
Imam Ismaël Tiendrébéogo of the Circle of Studies, Research and Islamic Training (CERFI), explained to the Wakat Sera Journal How to identify the Night of Destiny: according to him, “the Prophet gave elements to identify this night. He says that the same day of the Night of Destiny, there is a freshness, there is no wind, but people feel like it, And the serenity that we feel.
According to the great mosque of Paris, a date was however identified: the body considers that the night of fate comes on the night of Wednesday March 26 to Thursday March 27, 2025.
The term can have two senses. In Arabic, it is written “لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْر bus”. This can designate fate because it would be the night when the fate of each person was determined. Other religious call it “The Night of Power” to reflect the greatness and the importance of the revelation of the Koran during this night. The Archangel Gabriel would have revealed this sacred text to the Prophet Muhammad on this date.
The “Night of Destiny”, or Laylat al-Qadr is, in the Muslim religion, a very important moment which invites all believers to an important introspection. For Muslims, it is a “blessed” night, symbolizing not only the revelation of the Koran, but also a night trip from Muhammad to the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. The tradition says that he experienced the ascent and encountered, at each heaven, several prophets. According to the hadith n ° 239 or “Muslim”, it was there that God ordered the prophet to prescribe prayer to all Muslims.
It is regularly recalled that this night is “better than 1000 months” to reward believers who would pray during this moment. For Muslims, it offers those who practice it by sincere meditation, repentance and invocation, to receive forgiveness from its sins. This is therefore why it is considered one of the most holy nights of the year for Muslims. According to the Koran, during this night, Allah grants the implorations of the most pious and dedicated believers. The night of fate would therefore have invaluable value. Indeed, it is written in the book of Islam: “During this one descends the angels as well as the Spirit, by permission of their Lord for any order. She is peace and salvation until the appearance of dawn” (sura the determination, 1-5).
This moment is essential for Muslims to get closer to God by prayer, meditation, alms and the recitation of the Koran during that date. The night of fate is an opportunity for practicing Muslims to perform many actions. The imams are loaded that day for the so-called “Tarawih” prayer all night and “will end the recitation of the entire Koran with the invocation of divine grace for the effort made by the Muslims at the end of their fast”, said a press release from the Great Mosque of Paris during a recent edition of the “Sacred” month. Other prayers are recommended during this night to get closer to God: the prayer of Tajajud to be achieved before dawn, that of Salat al-Layl during the night and finally Salat al-isitikhara during the night too.
The faithful will be invited to “pay their canonical duty by pouring the ‘Zakat El-Fitr’ before the prayer of Eid”, namely compulsory alms for believing Muslims, to be more rewarded for charity acts.
