Iveco and Ford Trucks signed a joint development agreement

As announced by the official announcement today, Iveco and Ford Trucks signed a joint development agreement.

The official press release about the development was as follows: “Iveco Group NV’s light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles design and marketing Iveco and Ford Otosan’s heavy commercial vehicle brand Ford Trucks, today, has signed an important agreement today. This agreement was announced as a binding joint development agreement (JDA), which includes a new cabin design and engineering development for heavy service type trucks. This agreement transforms the exclusive, non -binding memorandum Zaptı (MO) an operational project announced by the two companies on March 14, 2024. JDA is a contract -based framework for the common development of a new type of heavy service type truck cabin as well as common resources in places where it is valid. Both companies will produce cabins in their own facilities and customize the main design concepts and market their products under the roof of their brand Iveco and Ford Trucks. The new cabin has been designed to increase the competitiveness of both brands.

At the same time, it will offer a structure in accordance with the EU Direct Vision Standard, which will soon enter into force, and will provide a solution with improved aerodynamic features that contribute to reduced carbon emissions. With its focus, cost efficiency and full compliance with all power transfer organs, cabin comfort, security, aerodynamics and modularity will be. First cabins are expected to be ready for production by 2028. As a result of this agreement and common efforts, the two companies will reach a new senior modular cabin family with the latest technology, which is much superior to the previously planned cabins, and will provide significant savings in investments. The estimated total expenditure that the parties spend together under JDA is 343 million euros.
