Public Health Warns of Potential Measles Exhibitions in Chatham, Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Public Health is Advising the Community of Six New Measles Exhibitions at Locations in Chatham and Tilbury.

The Health Unit Identified the Potential Exhibitions Between March 1 and 6 in a Release Tuesday afternoon:

  • Ebenezer Christian School (485 Mcnauughton Ave., E. Chatham) – Ballhawks Practice on March 4 from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm
  • Angela Merici Catholic School (801 Mcnauughton Ave., W. Chatham) – After School in the Gym and Commons Areas on March 6 from 5:15 pm to 9:15 pm
  • Chatham Christian School (475 Keil Dr., S. Chatham) – Badminton Practice,, March 4 to 6 from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm
  • Ymca chatham (101 courthouse lane, chatham) – March 6 from 12:45 pm to 4:05 pm
  • Municipality of Chatham-Kent Tilbury Municipal Office (17 Superior St., Tilbury) on March 3 from 9:30 am to 12:10 pm
  • Onroute Tilbury – 401 Westbound on March 1 from 5 pm to 8 pm

If you were present during these timeframes and are not up-to date with your vaccinations, the health unit Advives Calling CK Public Health at 519-352-7270 Ext. 5902.

“If you are experienced symptoms of measles and need to visit a health care provider, Emergency Department or Walk-in Clinic, Call First and Tell Them You Have An Exposure and Measles Symptoms,” The Health Unit Said.

Symptoms can include a fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, irritability and red eyes, the health unit. A Red Rash Appears on the Face Three to Seven Days After the Start of the Above Symptoms. The Rash May Start from the Face and Progress Down the Body.

“It is important to note that the Majority of individuals are vaccinated against measles, Providing Them with Protection Against the Disease,” The Health Unit Said. “As Such, the Risk of Contracting Measles remains Small to the Broade Community. However, as a precautionary measure, we urge all individuals to ensure they are up-to-date on their vaccinations. ”

The Latest Exposure Warning Comes After An Alert About Other Potential Exposities was Issued Sunday by the Health Unit.
