Tilda Johansson was only 25 years old when she retired.
Now the Swede has made a comeback in the ski tracks again.
The young biathlon Tilda Johansson Was one of our most promising in the sport and also belonged to the A-national team. But last winter she took a timeout and then refused the Swedish national team due to lack of motivation.
Tilda’s comeback
In December 2024, the message came that Tilda ends the entire biathlon career, only 25 years old. But a few months later, she has now made a comeback in the ski tracks again.

Johansson was on the starting line when the Vasaloppet took place last weekend. It was the second time in life that she went the classic race, the first time was already an 18-year-old.
– I ran the first year I got to go, ie when I went to my third year to high school. I was registered for a very long time and I think I and Dad signed up already last spring. But I haven’t gone around thinking about it until the last month. Then just, shit it’s close now. It was just for fun as well. But it was fun actually, says the Swede in an interview with to Längt.se.
– I absolutely think it gave added flavor. And it really felt like wow, I want to do this again. I think that if you put a little more focus on striking then maybe it would give quite a lot of results. Because, as I said, I haven’t staked much at all, she says.
Johansson’s words
However, Tilda Johansson has not left biathlon completely and the sport is still a big part of her life.
– Everyday I work as a coach at the biathlon gymnasium in Sollefteå. I am there and train and coach the students. But I still exercise a lot. I think it’s great fun with all kinds of training. But it is not the same as when you are in an A-team and aiming for the world top. Without now, it is more just that I think it is a hobby, the best hobby I have, she tells the site.

The 25-year-old also follows his old national team colleagues and teammates and watched the biathlon World Cup at home in front of the TV.
– Well, I miss biathlon and I still think it’s great fun. I may not miss the elite venture, to be away at the World Cup and IBU Cup and to have it as a priori one. But I can definitely sit and watch the TV and feel that it was fun to be there. But as I said, I don’t like having to have it as a priori one. So there are some mixed feelings there, she says in the interview.
