Doug Ford’s message comes a few hours after Donald Trump announced that customs on all steel and aluminum from Canada will be doubled to 50 percent. The action was a response to Ontario’s increased electricity tax.
During the day, Doug Ford should have had a “productive conversation” with the US Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnick. They decided to meet in Washington on Thursday to discuss commercial tariffs for goods covered by the USMCA Agreement.
