Eight people lost their lives in drowning accidents in February, and during the first two months of the year, a total of twelve people drowned. It can be compared with two people during the period January-February last year.

The number of isolations is higher than in recent years, which is largely due to the fact that the ice has been treacherous around the country, according to the Swedish Lifeguard Society that calls for caution.

“Isar is still on our lakes in large parts of the country and a safe ice can be an uncertain ice in just an hour,” says the company’s secretary general Mikael Olausson in a press release.
