The largest number, 126 drones, must have been shot down over the course region, and 91 drones have been shot down around the capital Moscow and its suburbs.
If the information is confirmed, the attack according to AP may be the largest Ukrainian drone attack against Russia in three years.
The Russian governor Andrej Vorobjov states that a person was killed in the drone attacks. Another three people have been injured.
Two airports southeast of Moscow, Zhukovsky and Domodedovo, were temporarily closed for air traffic early Tuesday morning in connection with the attacks.
