Oil tanks are in flames in the North Sea

According to initial information, this is the oil tanker Stena Immaculate, and the container ship Solon, reports Sky News.

The collision occurred off the coast of British East Yorkshire, just before 10am.

According to preliminary information, it is an oil tanker resident in the United States and another cargo vessel flagged in Panama.

Rescue forces, both flights and vessels, have been alerted to the scene. Among them are ships with equipment to fight fires.

The Coast Guard states that a rescue helicopter has been called to the scene, along with lifeboats and a fastened aircraft.

According to a statement from the British maritime rescue organization Royal National Lifeboat Institution, persons from the ship’s crews have been evacuated, the BBC reports.
