The German Environment Party The Greens do not intend to vote for prospective Chancellor Friedrich Merz Huge billionaire on infrastructure and defense, says group leader Katharina Dröge according to picture.
Thus, the plan’s plans are resolved.
Last week, Merz Christian Democrats (CDU/CSU) and the Social Democrats announced that they have agreed on major initiatives to gain momentum on the limping German economy and at the same time renovate a lot.
The defense part, possibly at several hundred billion euros, is intended to be financed by an unlocking of the constitutional debt brake. The new rules will enable weapons purchases and investments in defense to be exempted from the otherwise strict borrowing rules.
Infrastructure investments of up to EUR 500 billion for ten years are also included in the agreement, which takes place within the framework of ongoing coalition interviews between Germany’s two large state -carrying parties.
In order to club the decision, a qualified majority of two -thirds is required in the Bundestag. In just a few weeks, a new parliament will take up, where the outer parties together have more than a third of the mandate. Therefore, Merz wants to get a voting with the outgoing congregation already this week – something that requires support from the green or liberal FDP.
