Good news for users of Parisian public transport! From June 2025, the Navigo Liberté+ pass can directly be loaded on your smartphone. The annual navigo will follow at the end of the year.
Between November 2024 and February 2025, the Navigo Liberté+ pass saw its number of subscribers double: they are now more than a million to use this title of transport! Established in 2019, it allows travelers to be taken monthly for the journeys made the previous month, a posteriori, without having to pay tickets in advance. An “à la carte” and with a very practical offbeat payment for people who move in the Paris region irregularly and who therefore have no interest in taking a monthly navigo type subscription. For the moment, however, there is only in the form of a physical card. But it will soon change.
In fact, the Navigo pass was activated on Android smartphones two years ago, before landing in May 2024 on iOS, after endless negotiations between IDFM and Apple. However, the offer is not available in full. Indeed, the mobile application allows you to obtain a day navigo package, T+ tickets per unit, by three, five or in a normal or reduced notebook, as well as Orlybus or Roissybus tickets. Thus, the weekly, monthly or annual navigo packages, such as the Imagine R or Liberté+packages, are not among the options offered. So far, Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) was content to announce 2025 as a launch window for the Navigo Liberté+pass. Things are finally clearing a little more, since we now know that we can enjoy it from June 2025.
Navigo Liberty+ pass: a simplification of the different IDFM offers
Thus, the Navigo Liberté+ pass can be loaded and used directly from an iOS and Android smartphone. According to Île-de-France Mobilités, validation will work even when the phone is off. The user will be able to see his journeys on the application, and the corresponding amount will be invoiced the following month. Note that, if the formula has long been limited to zone 1, corresponding to intramural Paris; It now allows you to travel throughout the Île-de-France. Excellent news then!
Liberty + provides a more advantageous price than unit tickets. Indeed, since January 1, 2025 there are only two tickets that have replaced all the current ones. The objective being unsurprisingly to greatly simplify and make occasional trips more consistent without drowning users under the many areas. While the price of train tickets, RER or metro varied between 2.15 and 5 € depending on the area or the municipality, it is now billed at € 2.50 in a unique way. For the bus and the tram, this sum was lowered at 2 euros. Note that these amounts are reduced for holders of a navigo+ freedom pass: € 1.99 for the train-metro and € 1.60 for the bus and the tram. In addition, the correspondence between the bus or the tram with the metro, train or RER is offered.
Finally, the titles intended for visitors were also simplified. The Navigo day day all areas without access to airports has increased to € 12 instead of € 20.60. There is also a unique airport pass at € 13, valid for the two airports (Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly), departing from all over Île-de-France, as well as a Paris pass visit at € 29.90, including access to airports. As for the annual navigo pass, however privileged of employees, it should arrive on smartphone by the end of the year.
