16-year-old Josefin Söderqvist-Lind is one of the students who attend the transport program in Bispgården. She commutes every day from Sollefteå.
– I have been aiming to attend this education all my life and I would prefer to work on driving a timber car, she says.
More girls are looking for transport training
The Transport Union’s Professional and Work Environment Committee’s latest school report shows that 33 percent of all transport students in the country are girls, which is unique among the vocational programs. In Bispgården, the number of girls has increased gradually over the years. Right now, almost 50 percent of students in grade 1 are girls.
