08:13 – Zelensky requires that kyiv’s interests be “taken into account”
Tuesday, March 11, 2025, a meeting between a delegation from kyiv and an American team should be the first between the two countries since the disastrous visit of the Ukrainian president to the White House at the end of February. This new meeting in Djedda (Saudi Arabia) should be used to “define a framework for a peace agreement and an initial cease-fire” between Russia and Ukraine, assured the American emissary for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
“We hope to discuss and agree on the necessary decisions and steps,” said Volodymyr Zelensky, setting a condition for a potential peace agreement. If it is open to a “constructive dialogue”, it requires kyiv’s interests to be “taken into account”, otherwise the peace agreement cannot be decreed. Confident, the meeting will be “productive”. “Ukrainians want to restore confidence, but also American aid, in military matters and also in terms of information,” said TF1/LCI this morning.
