Following the Identification of A Possible Case of Measles, Chatham-Kent Public Health has listed additional potential sites in the municipality.

In A Media Release Sunday Afternoon, the Health Unit Stated Its Warning Covered The Followed Locations and Timeframes:

-Growing Together Family Resource Center, Wj Baird Site (182 King St., Blenheim), March 4-7, 7:45 am to 10 am

*Families of the affected individuals have been notified and public health continues to work closely in collaboration with daycare administration to provide guidance to personal and families.

-Earlyon, wj baird site, March 4-6, 7:45 am to 10 am

– Tim Hortons (41 Park Ave., Chatham), March 6, 4:45 pm to 7:15 pm

– Country Kitchen (415 Richmond St., Chatham), March 7, 9:30 am to 1:15 pm

– Walmart (881 St Clair St., Chatham), March 7, 11:15 am to 2:30 pm

Anyone Present During These Timeframes who is not up-to date with their vaccinations is asked to call public health at 519-352-7270 ext. 5902.

“It is important to note that the Majority of individuals are vaccinated against measles, providing them with protection against the diSease,” officials stated in the release.

“As Such, the Risk of Contracting Measles remains Small to the Broade Community. However, as a precautionary measure, we urge all individuals to ensure they are up-to-date on their vaccinations. ”

Those Experiencing Measles Symptoms Who Need to Visit A ​​Health-Care Provider, Emergency Department or Walk-In Clinic Are Urged to Call First and Explain They’ve Had An Exposure and Symptoms.

These can include a fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, irritability and red eyes. A Red Rash Appears on the Face Three to Seven Days After the Start of the Above Symptoms. The Rash May Start from the Face and Progress Down the Body.
