The Secret Service shot a man who “brandished a firearm” near the White House. He was transported to hospital. Donald Trump was not present.
The American secret services led a risk operation on Sunday March 9 in the morning. According to a statement from Secret Service, the agents had been warned by local Washington police as a “suicidal” man from Indiana was in the capital. They would have found his vehicle, around midnight, around the White House, before being faced with the man in question, who would have “brandished a firearm” before being neutralized by the agents of the secret service.
Donald Trump was not present at the White House at the time of the facts. We do not know if man was aware of this information and if he had other intentions than that of killing himself. It is also not known why he wanted to do it in front of the White House.
His vital prognosis is unknown
“When the agents approached, the individual brandished a firearm and an armed confrontation followed, during which shots were fired by our staff.” The secret service therefore shot man. Put out of harmful state, he was transported to hospital, but the statement of secrecy does not report his vital prognosis. No agent has been attacked. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Washington Metropolitan Police Internal Affairs Division.
