(Finance) – On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, Fipe-confcommercio celebrates the fundamental contribution of women in the catering and public businesses sector. Today, over 600,000 women work in the sector and more than 96,000 companies are guided by entrepreneurs, representing a significant share of the Italian entrepreneurial fabric.
These data They fit into a macro positive context: the female employment rate in Italy has in fact reached a historical level, exceeding the ten million women employed in the third quarter of 2024, according to Istat data. However, with a rate of 57.6%, Italy remains below the European average of 71%, and, above all, the presence of women in apical and decision -making roles remains limited.
“Female entrepreneurship It represents a fundamental lever to fill this gap: entrepreneur women often adopt inclusive models, favoring the hiring of other women, promoting balance between work and family and facilitating work reintegration after motherhood. This approach is not only an economic response, but also a significant cultural change “, comments Valentina Picca Bianchi, president of the Fipe-Confcommercio women’s women group.
In this sense, The obstacles still present today refer to a genre gap still very pronounced as regards financial education. Future challenges focus on greater support for female entrepreneurship, with targeted professional incentives and professional development paths. It is essential that institutions and the private sector collaborate to implement effective tools that favor women’s access to funding, training and support networks. In addition, it is crucial to work so that the systemic barriers that still penalize women in the conciliation between work and private life are reduced, hindering their professional and entrepreneurial growth.
Next to supporting entrepreneurship, fipe-confcommercio renews their commitment to support entrepreneurs and workers in the sector also in issues relating to safety and the fight against gender violence, aTTRAVERSO DEDICATED PROJECTS AS SAFETYVERSAVER, created in collaboration with the State Police.
“International Women’s Day is not only a moment of celebration, but an opportunity to reflect on the challenges still open for women in the world of work. Our daily commitment is aimed at promoting female empowerment through training, mentoring and awareness initiatives. But a wider cult change is needed: only with a true gender culture can we break down the obstacles that still limit the access of women to leadership roles “, concludes Picca Bianchi.
