Alderman Jeroen Brouwer (SP) is happy with the financial help of the ship company. The municipality already had plans to plant many trees at the same location, but can now use that money to strengthen nature in other places in the municipality. “Many old trees must now be replaced and renewed,” says Brouwer. But extra trees also help with climate change. “It gets warmer, then you also want more shade.”
