What kind of event is that? Road to the Final (RTTF) is the continuation of Road to the Knockouts (RTTK). This is an event that brings dynamic cards to Ultimate Team that can collect further upgrades in the next few days, weeks and months.

The road to the final accompanies the largest European competitions that have now reached the KO-phase after the league. These are the following tournaments:

  • UEFA Champions League (UCL)
  • UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL)
  • UEFA Europa League (Uel)
  • UEFA Conference League (UECL)

    • In FC 24, the event actually came in early February after the Team of the Year, but there was no official start in FC 25.

    Why can you already use the upgrades? In the course of the current season 5 (Future is Yours) you could choose 4 out of a total of 8 RTTF professionals via the Season Pass. 4 more players appeared as Squad Building Challenges (SBCS), where you could commit to 2. Another card could be activated as a task in a friendship game cup.

    With the start of the round of 16 games in the first week of March, these 13 cards are now in focus. Although there was no official event, 7 of the 13 published RTTF players have already diligently collected their first upgrades from which you can benefit.

    How do the players collect upgrades? For the upgrades of RTTF, the progress in the competitions is particularly crucial. On the way to the title, the cards can collect up to 5 improvements that can be achieved as follows:

  • Victory or draw in the round of 16: +1 overall rating (+1 ges)*
  • Right-wing final games will take place from March 4 to 13, 2025
  • Moving into quarter -finals: +1 ges and 1 player role ++
  • After progress in round of 16 games
  • Moving into the semi-finals: +1 Ges & 1 ★-upgrade with a low foot or special movement **
  • After progress in quarter-final games from April 8th to 17th, 2025
  • Moving into the final: +1 Playstyle+(+2 Playstyle+, if professional only owned one before)
  • After progress in semi-final games from April 29 to May 8, 2025
  • Victory in the final: +1 ges or 96 Ges & 5 ★-upgrade with a low foot or special movement
  • After victory in the final on May 21 (Uel), on May 24th (UWCL) on May 28 (UECL) or May 31, 2025 (UCL)

    • * The cards from Uefa Women’s Champions League receive the first upgrade with a win or draw in the 1st VF game (March 18 to 19, 2025). ** Another upgrade for the cards from UEFA Women’s Champions League takes place after a victory or draw in the 1st HF game (April 19, 2025).

    Why has the event not yet appeared? There could be several reasons for this. We suspect that it could mainly have to do with the new format and the new schedule of international competitions.

    Since the 24/25 season, the usual group phase has been replaced by a league. With the subsequent play-offs, this dragged on to February, so far beyond the starting point of RTTF in FC 24.

    A suitable time for the start of RTTF would have been the start of the KO phase in the first week of March. Traditionally, EA celebrates Ultimate Team’s birthday annually during this period.
