For at least a day, an 18 -month -old child was allowed to sit in his crib. Without access to food or water, in a crowded diaper.
On Friday, the trial begins against the child’s mother, reports Aftonbladet.
The police had to crush a box to enter the extinguished house one evening in December 2023.
They went to the place with a lump in their stomach, prepared for the baby to be dead. But the child was found alive in a nasty room as a stank of urine. The child’s only company – a mobile with a baby station, which captures sound. The child swayed in water, ate a clementine and wanted to be close to the police.
After the incident, the mother has been charged with the provision of danger of other, serious abuse and unlawful detention, and on Friday the trial begins in Uppsala District Court.
“I’ve never had any similar cases before,” prosecutor Karin Kici told Aftonbladet.
The mother, with a history of alcohol abuse, had gone to Stockholm to visit a bar and go to a nightclub with a friend. She was found severely drunk at a petrol station in Solna and told her that her children were alone at home.
The child has been placed in family homes since the event, writes Aftonbladet.
