Open source game engine Godot 44 updated

Godot 4.4 has been released with new features. With the update, performance improvements and attractive innovations are waiting for game developers.

Open source game engine GodotAnnounced the 4.4 version. This update includes many innovations such as integration of Jolt physics engine, .NET 8 support and improved editor usability. Shaped with nearly 3,000 Commit, Godot 4.4 offers significant improvements for both beginners and experienced developers.

Innovations coming with Godot 4.4

One of the most striking features of Godot 4.4 was that the Jolt physics engine is now a part of the engine. This system, which was previously used as an add -on, provides a more fluent and sensitive experience, especially in 3D physics operations. However, this new engine is not active by default. In addition, the 3D physical interpolation feature is now available. This system offers more fluent visuals by reducing tremor in physics -based animations. This feature, which was previously available for 2D, has become available in 3D projects.

Godot 4.4 also offers innovations on the editor side to facilitate the game development process. The game window can now work as embedded in the editor, which provides great convenience, especially for developers using single screen. However, this feature is not supported in MacOS for now. There is also an important update for C# users. Godot 4.4 has switched to Microsoft’s long -term support .net 8 platform. This offers a more modern infrastructure and extended features to C# developers.

Godot 4.4 was welcomed by the developer community. Especially type dictionaries, physics interpolation and jolt support features such as features were highly appreciated. Project Manager Rémi Verschelde said that this update was “a big step focusing on user experience and editorial workflow”.
