The Swedish long jumper passed the final limit already in the first jump in the qualification where he struck with 8.00.
– It is an incredible feeling to do it in the first. Now I can start focusing on tomorrow. It was once again an eight -meter jump and a good feeling. I am super happy, says Montler, who was thus not completely satisfied with the Swedish jerseys.
– It’s a little mustard yellow. The functionality is good, but they must correct the color, he says.
The men’s final in long jump starts at 20.34 during Friday night and will be broadcast in SVT. Montler was four in the qualification where the direct limit went just at 8.00.
Samuel Pihlström also went to the final of 1,500 meters after being third.
– I had decided before I would be close. I knew that if I was in tight with two laps left, I will not be worse than third, says Philström.
It was only the first three in each heat that went to the final – no times.
Inner-EM’s biggest star Jakob Ingebrigtsen impressed greatly with winning his heat stopping and with full control.
