Summer may be the cheapest in several years

Summer can be the cheapest in several years – at least for those traveling abroad.
Today’s inflation message is believed to prevent more interest rate cuts.
– Thanks to that, foreign investors dare to buy Swedish kronor again, says independent economist Claes Hemberg in TV4 News Morning.

Two summers in a row have both the dollar and the euro cost about SEK 12. It has made it expensive to travel abroad. But now the euro is under eleven Swedish kronor, and looks to remain there for the summer.

– 10.50 we can probably end up. Then it becomes much more fun to go to Spain or wherever you want, says Claes Hemberg.

Been afraid of sweden

The shaky world economy in recent years has caused foreign investors to stay away from Sweden. A relatively small and open economy is vulnerable when it swings in the world, and the risk has been considered too great.

But now the Swedish economy is being predicted to be on the way again. And when the interest rate is firm, investors venture back.

– It is a confidence in Sweden that we see, says Claes Hemberg.

Can be cheaper even in Sweden

A stronger crown is not only positive for those traveling abroad. It can also make it cheaper to shop in Sweden.

– A krone reinforcement in the long term would obviously benefit the companies in the form of reducing purchasing prices. But if consumers and households are to take part in it, it also means that companies can not only take it out in profit margins, says Shoka Åhrman, savings economist at SPP, to TT.
