A few years ago the bridge was closed for cars. Pedestrians, cyclists, mopeds and riders still use the bridge in the park. “There is pretty overdue maintenance,” says Albert Kramer van Leusden Vooruit. He is not happy with the alderman’s proposal for the recovery of the bridge. Already several times the council has been asked for more money and now the costs are too high, he thinks. The city councilor is concerned about exceeding the budget because in 2026 the municipality will have to deal with large deficits.
