This week, several politicians from the Swedish Democrats and the Moderates went out on X and criticized Arla for their new milk packaging.
On the rear of the packages is a clinging that customers should solve to help Hamid Find the right path to the barn. The headline reads: “Help Hamid Run”. The politicians who criticized Arla do not like that the dairy farmer on the package is called Hamid, which Express Be the first to report.
One who criticized Arla’s milk package was the Member of Parliament Jessica Stegrud54, from the Swedish Democrats. She tagged Arla on X and wrote “First Bovaer and then this … Go Woke or Broke …?” Also the party colleague Maria Rosander51, criticized Arla with a post on X. Hanif Bali37, from the Moderates also criticized Arla for the name choice.
“How many dairy farmers have Arla called Hamid?” he wrote on X.
Following the criticism of Arla, one of Arla’s milk boys now steps forward, which is called Hamid just the figure on the back of the milk packs.
– Just because I have a foreign background, they think I couldn’t. Facting instead, is that correct? says 24-year-old Hamid Ataei to TV4 News.
Hamid worked at one of Arla’s dairy farms for seven years. He was born in Afghanistan but now lives in Tranås. Today he is studying political science in Linköping and is active within the Liberals.
In 2017 at a study visit to one of Arla’s farmhouses, he became interested in the profession and started working there.
– I got up three in the morning to milk. I got into the process and could handle a barn with over 300 cows, Hamid tells TV4 News.
For TV4 News, he says that many of his foreign -born friends have also worked on farmhouses and believe that everyone should read more before they make a statement.
He also gives a boot to the politicians who have been so upset about his name on milk packaging and thinks they should focus on more important things.
– Is this the biggest problem, that the name Hamid is on the milk package? I think we should turn to the problems we have in society. How should we include so that everyone feels like part of society?, He tells TV4 News.
