Microsoft’s latest firmware update for Xbox controllers negatively affects users’ gaming experience.
Xbox The latest firmware update number 5.23.5.0, released on February 25 for controllers, led to unexpected problems. Microsoft aimed to increase the sensitivity of controllers with the update. However, users began to experience serious problems such as sudden connection breaks, incorrect key triggers and unwanted movements in control rods after the update.
Problems in Xbox Controller
After the update, many users said that especially control sticks are randomly moving and this makes games that require precise control, such as engagement. Even in menu navigations, users who say that the controller causes problems, says that this seriously affects the experience of gaming.
On Reddit, a user suggested that the problem could be caused by the Deadzone settings in the control bars. In a meeting with the Xbox support team, it was confirmed that the control sticks of the problem were caused by a mistake about the activation of dead zone before returning to the central position. This error causes the controller to make unexpected movements.
For the time being, there is no definite solution to problems. Although some users try to find temporary solutions by resetting the firmware in Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers, this method does not work for Xbox Series X/S controllers. Most users will have to wait for a correction patch from Microsoft.
It is recommended that users who have not yet made this update not to switch to 5.23.5.0 version. It is not clear when Microsoft will solve these problems.
