Bandy: Västerås turned when Christoffer Edlund missed punishment again

– It’s fun to win down here, it’s not so many who do, but we are not happy and and not do what we should do. There is not much to celebrate, says VSK’s two -goal shooter Wilhelm Frimodig to Bandypul’s webcast and highlights the defensive as the key to the victory.

– Our defensive is really, really good. I think we have found something on those that make it difficult to score goals, Frimoda continues.

When it was 1-1, the shooter Christoffer Edlund shot a weak penalty that VSK goalkeeper Henrik Kjellsson saved. It was Edlund’s third missed penalty on four attempts in the playoffs.

Villa took timeout at sub-5-2

A few minutes later, however, Tobias Augustsson, who arranged the penalty, cut 2-1 for Villa, who seemed to connect the match for the loud home crowd, where over 4,000 benched.

Instead, Västerås stuck up with four straight goals up to 5-2 and Villas coach Pelle Fosshaug took a rare timeout at home.

It had the effect and the team went up to down 5-4 with two quick goals and forced Västerås to take a timeout.

“Carry or burst”

The match stood and weighed when Vilgot Müller trampled on from the left and sniffed 6-4 for Västerås high up in the goal with just over a quarter left.

However, Villas Captain Martin Karlsson restored the drama a few minutes later when he thundered the reduction 6-5 and created uncertain final minutes where Villa pressed.

– They shut us down offensively and so they contradict us. There are very small margins that determine today and it is just to reload. It is carry or burst now, says Villas two -goal shooter Tobias Augustsson.

The final will be played at VSK’s home arena in Västerås on March 15.
