Ukraine and the United States will hold a new meeting in the near future, says Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyj’s Chief of Staff Andrij Jermak, according to Sky News.
Andrij Jermak says he has spoken on the phone with Mike Waltzsecurity adviser to president Donald Trump During the day.
“We discussed the next step towards a fair and lasting peace,” Jermak says in a statement.
“We have planned a meeting for our teams in the near future to continue this important work,” Jermak says further.
The message comes after Friday’s degenerate meeting between Donald Trump and Volodyyr Zelenskyj In the oval room, which ended with the visiting Ukrainian delegation leaving the White House.
Since then, the mood has, to say the least, been tense between the two leaders. Trump accuses Zelenskyj of not wanting peace and of sabotaging the Americans’ proposal for a ceasefire in Ukraine. Zelenskyj, for his part, has emphasized several times that Ukraine needs security guarantees in order for a lasting peace to become a reality.
