“You can count on sound, otherwise you can move to Skövde”.
So the m-summit said Dennis Wedin in an interview with Aftonbladet About sound -sensitive Stockholmers who are disturbed by the noise from Gröna Lund – now the chairman of the municipal council in Skövde is responding to the play.
– I’ve invited him here, says Theres Sahlström.
Accommodation near the popular amusement park Gröna Lund thinks it sounds too much. Neighbors in the area have since 2020 submitted several notifications and think that rides and concerts sound too much, reports Aftonbladet.
This is something that caused the opposition mayor Dennis Wedin (M) to react strongly. He says to the newspaper that you have to adapt if you live in a big city.
– If you settle in Stockholm, where there is already sound, you have to count on it. Otherwise, you can move to Skövde, he says.
Skövde responds to the play
Theres Sahlström (M) is the chairman of the municipal council in Skövde municipality. She read Dennis Wedin’s statement and reacted. When TV4 News reaches her on Monday afternoon, she announces that she and the party mate have talked in the morning.
– I can understand Denni’s points. If you live in a big city, you have to expect it to have sound. I think it will be a fantastic opportunity to come here to look, I have invited him here. All cities have their advantages, she says.
“No hard feelings”
She thinks there is a lot going on in the city and that it is not completely silent.
– We have a fantastic countryside where there is peace and quiet, she says.
Why do you think he chose Skövde?
– It was perhaps the first thing he came up with when he thought of the country outside the big city.
Theres Sahlström thinks that the M-top’s play is good for marketing purposes and urges people to get to Skövde.
– There are no hard feelings between us. We have received a lot of publicity and we have to thank that. He is welcome here when he wants to relax from the big city sound, she says.
