New event in Diablo 4 brings treasure goblins that drop the rarest items – and they remain permanent

In Diablo 4, one event is chasing the next – and soon the “March of the Goblins” will come back. Here you have the chance to do treasure goblins and grab their fat prey. And the new goblin variants even remain permanently in the game.

What kind of event is that? At the “March of the Goblins” event, the Schatzgoblins are up to mischief in Sanktuario-and they drop valuable loot bags when you do them. The event runs from March 4, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to March 11, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.. You can find the goblins in the open world, with shrines of greed and at the Knorzer world boss.

On top of that, there are new goblin variants this time. The spawns less often than the normal treasure goblins and can drop really strong loot – including the coveted Mythic uniques.

What kind of treasure goblins are these? The new variants of the Schatzgoblins appear less frequently in Sanktuario, but they also drop really strong loot. According to Blizzard, the following new variants should be available at the “March of the Goblins” event:

  • ECTOR The disgusting (green): lets different handicraft materials fall and gives you OBDUZIT if you defeat it in a quality level.
  • Golden baron (yellow): lets the gold fall.
  • Glittering Prym (light blue): Leave gemstone fragments, runes and under town tributes and scattered prisms.
  • Murl the curious (violet): lets an obolus bag fall that remains in your inventory if you have reached the maximum at Obolussen.
  • Syrus von Gallert (blue): divides into two goblins during death, which in turn dissolve in three. If you kill the smallest goblins, let Legendarys, Gold, Boss Mats and with luck.
  • Fedric the dazzling old (purple pink): very rarely spawns. Lies a mythic unique and a “magnificent spark” for crafting mythics.
    • The “Golden Baron” goblin provides you with gold.
    “Syrus von Gallert” is divided into more goblins.

    Some of the new treasure goblins are reminiscent of the Goblins from Diablo 3 – such as the Golden Baron, which has already dropped gold in the predecessor. The glittering Prym also had his counterpart in Diablo 3 with the gemstone goblin.

    Blizzard points out that the new goblin variants remain in all realms from Diablo 4 after the event-but with a lower spawn rate. Taking the treasure goblin also brings you in at the event.
