To win the 5 million euros in this lottery draw, you have to be “a little” lucky. Indeed, you have 1,906,884 possible ways to tick the boxes of your Lotto grid. And that’s not counting the lucky number – you have to choose from ten numbers. So you have a one in 19,068,840 chance of hitting the jackpot. This is the largest sum ever won since the launch of the game in 1976, according to the Française des jeux (FDJ). After 28 consecutive draws without a winner, the jackpot was won by a resident of Ile-et-Vilaine. The last record dates from September 11 with 26 million euros won. “In the whole history of Loto, this is the seventh time that the jackpot has exceeded the symbolic bar of 20 million euros,” said the FDJ.
