All 9 ring wearers from Lord of the Rings in the Power Ranking – who was best able to resist the temptation?

There were a total of nine ring wearers in the history of Lord of the Rings. Some lasted one ring for a few seconds. Others guarded him for years. But who was best able to cope with the tremendous power of the ring?

The story of the ring: In the second era, one ring was created by Sauron to control the rings of power. He existed for almost 5000 years before it was finally destroyed in the fire of the fate.

However, over 50 % of this time the ring was considered lost and almost forgotten. Because it was on the bottom of the Anduin river.

What was the ranking created? The ability of the ring wearers to resist the power of one ring is related to how long they were owned by the ring.

But there are also other factors. For example, some breeds have turned out to be more resistant than others. And the individual personality also plays a crucial role.

Spoiler warning: To explain the ranking, there are some spoilers as the “Lord of the Rings” universe.

9th place: Déagol

After one ring had been lost in the River Andurin for over 2000 years, he was found by a simple hobbit called Déagol. On a relaxed fishing tour, he discovered the sparkling treasure, whose true power he could of course see.

But the find did not give Déagol luck. His companion Sméagol also wanted the ring and quickly killed Déagol.

Since Déagol only had the ring with itself for a short time, it is difficult to say how well he could have resist its influence in the long term. However, it is known that the hobbit had no particularly good character and would probably have succumbed to the evil temptations quickly.

The short time with the ring was also sufficient to produce Déagol’s worst, greedy side. He ends up in 9th place in this ranking.
