Will Marabou become more expensive? Mondelez answers
A Swedish candy favorite owned by an American company is Marabou. They are owned by Mondelez who also has brands such as Daim, Oreo and Toblerone.
News24 Have talked to Negar SabaghzadehHead of Communications at Mondelez, about how the price of their products may be affected by Trump’s customs.
– We produce most of the goods for the Swedish market, including all Marabou, Daim and O’boy, in our own chocolate factory in Upplands Väsby. Other Mondelez products sold in the Swedish market are manufactured by Mondelez in other EU countries, she tells News24, and continues::
– Therefore, prices are not affected by any customs duties that may become a reality between the US and the EU.

Mondelez: Here’s the challenge
Like many other multinational companies, Mondelez manufactures their goods in the market they are sold, which means that the price of, for example, Marabou will not be directly affected by customs.
Another example of an American product manufactured elsewhere than in the United States is the American drink Coca Cola and Pepsi manufactured by Danish Carlsberg, according to Gothenburg Post.
However, Sabaghzadeh at Mondelez does not see that chocolate prices in the future are secured in any way. At the end of last year, a lot was reported on the rising cocoa prices, a problem that has not disappeared since then.
– We see a greater challenge in the fact that cocoa prices have increased to record -high levels in recent years, which of course affects production costs and prices for consumers – even though it is the food stores that put the price in store.
