Boy in Peru fell into 15 meters deep well – saved

A boy of 1.5 years fell into a 15 meter deep well in a community in the Amazon in Peru, reports AP.
After almost 20 hours he could be saved.

During the long and extensive effort, which included both rescue services and military personnel, they kept constant contact with the boy, the AP reports. They provided him with food, drink – and a mobile phone.

The boy, whose name is Jesús, fell into the well early Friday morning after following his father. Only at 02 during the night towards Saturday could the child finally be saved.

The clip from the site shows how he is lifted by rescue personnel from the dark well. He is then taken away by helicopter. The boy is now in hospital for surveillance.
