144 minutes – Then Zelenskyj was thrown out of the White House

Zelenskyj came to the White House to sign the agreement with the United States.

144 minutes later he left prematurely – kicked on the order of Trump.

The world looked at as everything collapsed.

After weeks of harsh words and negotiations, the news came on Tuesday: USA and Ukraine had agreed on a mineral agreement.

On Friday, it would be written by Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyj in the White House.

But everything ended in chaos and uncertainty.

“Today it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It is up to us Europeans to take on the challenge, ”the EU’s new Foreign Manager Kaja tweeted shortly after 21 o’clock.

Almost at a minute four hours earlier – at 17.20, Swedish time – Zelenskyj arrived at the White House.

Everything looked good at first. Presidents shook hands and Trump joked about his guest’s clothes – black against the normally green:

– He has dressed up today.

Inside the White House, Zelenskyj handed a gift in the form of the Ukrainian boxer’s Oleksandr Usyks master belt. As far as it usually was in connection with official visits to Washington, reports the BBC.

The schedule was carefully planned. First, Trump and Zelenskyj and their team would take questions from invited journalists in the Oval Room. Then the meeting would continue behind closed doors. Last of all, they would sign the agreement at a joint press conference.

But it never went so far.

No TV channels broadcast live from the Oval room, but the clips on the escalating brawl were wired out with delay via social media.

The starting shot for the chaos came about 40 minutes into the question time when Trump received a question from a Polish reporter if he stands too much on Putin’s side.

– If I didn’t snuggle up with both of them, we would never have an agreement. You want me to say horrible things about Putin and then say, “Hello Vladimir, how are you with the deal?” It doesn’t work that way.

Trump continued:

– I’m not lied with Putin, I’m not lied with anyone. I stand on the US side and want the world’s best. Do you want me to be tough? I can be tougher than any person you’ve ever seen. I would be so tough, but we get no agreement that way, that’s how it goes. Okay, another question?

JD Vance took the word

Then Vice President JD Vance broke into the conversation.

– I want to answer this. We have tried Joe Biden’s path to brow us up and pretend that the words from the US president mean more than the actions. What makes the United States a good country is that the United States is choosing diplomacy. That’s what President Trump does.

Zelenskyj took the word:

– May I ask one thing?

He warned that Putin did not hold his word and talked about the years between 2014 and 2022, before the full -scale invasion, when Russia occupied Crimea.

– No one stopped him. We had many conversations with him, bilateral conversations, and we signed with him. Me, Macron and Merkel. As a new president 2019, I signed an agreement with him on a ceasefire. But after that he broke the ceasefire. He killed our people, he violated our agreement to exchange prisoners of war. What kind of diplomacy are you talking about, JD? What do you mean?

The brawl increased

From here, the word riot escalated fast.

– I’m talking about the kind of diplomacy that ends the destruction of your country. Mr. President, with respect, I think it is disrespectful of you to come to the oval room and try to dispute this in front of American media. Right now your guys are walking around and forcing conscripts to the front as you have a soldier’s shortage. You should thank the president.

Zelenskyj replied:

– Have you ever been to Ukraine and seen what problems we have? Come once.

Vance replied that he has “seen stories”.

– I know what is happening and that is that you take people there on a propagandat, Mr President. Don’t agree that you have a problem? And do you think it is respectful to come to the oval room in the United States and attack the administration that tries to avoid the destruction of your country?

Zelenskyj replied:

– Many questions. Let’s take it from the beginning. First of all: in war all have problems, even you, but you have a nice ocean in between. You will not notice them now, but you will do so in the future. God bless you.

Trump broke into the conversation and attacked Zelenskyj:

– You don’t know. Don’t tell us what we should feel. We try to solve a problem. Do not tell us what we should feel because you are not in a position where you can dictate it. Remember that. You are not in position to dictate what we should feel.

Zelenskyj stood up:

– You will feel the influence. I’m telling you now. You will feel the influence.

Trump continued:

– Right now you are not in a particularly good position. You don’t have the cards in hand with us right now.

Zelenskyj picked up the ball:

– I’m not playing cards right now. I’m serious. I am a president during war times.

Trump did not give up:

– Just now you do it. You play cards. You gamble with millions of people’s lives. You gamble with the Third World War and what you do is very disrespectful to the country, this country. It has supported you much more than many people think it should.

Vance broke in again;

– Have you said “thank you” once?

“Many times,” Zelesknyj replied. Even today.

Trump: “No, no”

The fuss continued. Ukraine Ambassador Oksana Markarova was seen hiding the face in their hands – a picture that rapidly spread across the world.

JD Vance accused Zelenskyj of “campaigning with the opposition” when he visited Joe Biden in the White House in October.

Zelenskyj wanted to answer, but Trump interrupted:

– Wait a minute. No, no. You’ve talked a lot. Your country has a big problem.

Trump repeated the wrong figure that the United States has donated weapons for $ 350 billion.

– We gave you military equipment and your men are brave, but they needed to use our weapons. If you did not have our military equipment, the war would have been over in two weeks.

“In three days, I heard from Putin,” said Zelenskyj.

“Maybe less,” said Trump and continued.

Then Trump paid tribute to himself and said Putin respects him, but not Biden or Obama.

Trump’s threat: “won’t be beautiful”

Trump continued with an exposition about the Democrats and Hunter Biden and dismissed the investigation into Russian influence in the 2016 election as “a fraud”.

He then repeated that Putin wants an agreement and looked in Zeleskmyj in the eyes:

– The problem is that I have given you the power to be a tough guy. And I don’t think you would be a tough guy without the United States.

“Thanks,” replied Zelenskyj.

Trump increased the press and threatened the United States to pull in its support.

– But you will either go on an agreement or we leave. And if we pull out, you get the war to the end. I don’t think it will be beautiful.

Trump repeated that Zelenskyj “does not have the cards on hand”.

– As soon as we sign that agreement, you are in a much better position. But you are not grateful at all and it is not nice. I am to be honest, it’s not nice.

After ten minutes, the mouth was finally over.

– Alright, I think we’ve seen enough, what do you think? Trump said while the journalists left the room.

After the brawl, Zelenskyj and his staff were taken to an adjoining room in the White House. There they waited for the planned lunch, for the meeting to continue, for the agreement to be signed after all.

But they were waiting in vain.

According to CNN Trump called JD Vance, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, Finance Minister Scott Bessent and other top counselors. He made the decision that Zelenskyj “was not in the position to negotiate” and decided that he would be kicked out of the White House.

Several American media state that Ukrainians wanted to stop and continue the conversations, but Trump said no. He appointed Marco Rubio and his national security adviser Mike Waltz as messengers. They went to Zelenskyj and said it was time to leave.

At the same time, Trump published a partial ironic message On his platform Truth Social. He called the meeting “very meaningful” and wrote that Zelenskyj “can come back when he is ready for peace”.
