In recent years, terminal 5 at Arlanda Airport has undergone extensive renovation. The new route of restaurants and shops, which has been named the marketplace, is expected to be completely completed in the spring of 2025.
“After all, the marketplace will offer some 40 new restaurants and shops on a area that is about 11,000 square meters,” Swedavia writes on its homepage.

Here’s the secret door – available to all
The door, which is usually closed, is located to the left of the new duty-free area, right at the beginning of the new trading route.

It is mainly used by staff at the airport who need to be able to move quickly between the different parts of the terminal.
But it is not prohibited for travelers to press the button, open the door and use the shortcut, confirms Arlanda’s airport manager for Travel News.
